Blood Sugar Success Story

📢Good news!📢
In fact, scrap that – great news! 🎉🎉🎉
Roughly 12 months ago I started working intensely with a client who had severe type 2 diabetes.
Her HbA1C was 78.
For context – HbA1C is a measure of a person’s blood glucose levels over a 3 month period.
➡An HbA1C under 42 is ideal.
➡A prediabetic person would have an HbA1C of 42-48.
➡A diabetic person would have an HbA1C of 49 or over.
So you can see that 78 is off the scale high.

There's a lot of talk about ultra-processed foods at the moment.
There's some really compelling research being done which proves that eating foods that contain ingredients such as:
can be:
But most pre-prepared foods contain at least one of these ingredients!
Things that you wouldn't necessarily use if you prepare your food at home.
But who's got time to cook everything from scratch every time?
Well it does help to use little gadgets to make things a bit quicker and easier!

Unlock Peak Health and Easy Weight Loss

For easy weight loss, you need your metabolic health to be in tip top shape.
But what does "metabolic health" actually mean?
To be truly healthy, with a healthy metabolism, you need ALL of those things to be working at their optimum.
And...
One factor that affects ALL of the above is: BLOOD SUGAR.
(EVER HEARD OF non-alcoholic fatty liver disease? It's really a good idea to avoid that if you want to live long and enjoy good health in your old age)
So blood sugar has REALLY WIDE REACHING IMPACTS in the body.
It even affects the immune system.

Navigating Nandos
13 March 2023
Eating out should be fun.
It's often where we catch up with friends and enjoy not having to cook or wash up!
But when you're being mindful about what you eat, it can be fraught with obstacles.
I mean, you want to eat something yummy, but you don't want it to set you back a week.
Many restaurants tend to aim for taste rather than health, so it's likely there'll be more sugar in the food than you'd expect.
Almost certainly more than if you were making a similar dish at home.
The menu isn't always that helpful, but often the bigger chains have nutritional information on their websites, and that can help you to decide what will suit you best.
Take Nandos, for example.
Could disturbed sleep be making it hard to lose weight?
28 February 2023
The other day I woke early – 6am.
I got up, went for a wee, then stepped on the scales.
The previous day had been a good one. I’d eaten foods that I knew to be good for my metabolism, and I’d done some exercise too.
I know my body’s reactions to food and exercise pretty well, and I’d usually expect to see about 300g of weight loss after a day like that.
BUT NOT THIS TIME!
Frustratingly, my weight was exactly the same as the previous day.
Not the end of the world, but a bit annoying.
It was a Sunday, and I’d had a late night, so I went back to sleep until 8am, then got up, went for another wee, then stepped on the scales again.
300g down!
The lesson here – SLEEP IS IMPORTANT FOR WEIGHT LOSS!
Could fibre be the answer to your cholesterol problem?
18 January 2023
My tip for you today involves knowing a bit about how the body processes cholesterol.
You see-
▶ Your body uses LDL cholesterol to line your blood vessels, to protect against damage caused by inflammation.
▶ And to stop the LDL lining from staying around too long, your liver sends out HDL cholesterol to mop it all up again once it's done it's job.
▶ The liver then chucks out the used cholesterol into the bowel, where it gets ready to exit your body (that's right, it goes out in your poo).
And if everything's running normally, that's where the story ends.
But to make this cholesterol clearance system run smoothly, you need plenty of

When it's a mealtime, are you actually hungry?
17 July 2021
If it’s been several hours since you ate, and your body is ready for food, you’ll recognise what true hunger feels like.
Take notice of that feeling.
Pancakes and gut bacteria
11 September 2021
You may have heard that having a good range of gut bacteria is good for overall health.
It’s also really good for weight loss! If you eat the same foods all the time, your gut bacteria becomes really specialised to deal with those foods.
Is Constipation the reason you can't lose weight?

Trouble going to the toilet?
Feel like if you could just get more regular, you'd feel less bloated, have a slimmer tummy and maybe lose some KGs?
You can certainly FEEL lighter after a satisfying poo.
It might be assumed that it would make you quite considerably lighter.
